The beach events are contested over a sand course of varying distance and are some of the most hotly contested events at surf carnivals.

Board events involve paddling a fiberglass board from the beach, through the break, around a defined course and back again. This discipline also incorporates surfboard riding.

There are so many events that encompass swimming that it is one of the core competitive sections within any successful surf club. It is one of Cronulla SLSC’s premier disciplines.

Literally the flagship event of any surf carnival, March Past is a very traditional and colourful event. Largely ceremonial, teams are scored on strict uniformity and absolute military precision.
